PRO-TECH

CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM
TECHNICAL DATA SHEET
PRO-TECH Carbon Monoxide (CO) Alarms are engineered and manufactured under a rigorous ISO framework for maintaining consistent product quality and maximum reliability. An in-house lab sample tests for temperature and humidity performance, and 100% of the CO Alarms are tested to three levels of carbon monoxide two or more times each during calibration and production.

ANSI/UL 2034-05 STANDARD

The ANSI/UL 2034-05 Standard for Residential Carbon Monoxide Alarms requires the activation of an audible and visual signal if 70 ppm of CO is continually detected for 60-240 minutes. The maximum response time allowed decreases as the CO concentration increases (i.e. 10-50 min. for 150 ppm, and 4-15 min. for 400 ppm).

ISO 9001

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies from over 100 countries. ISO Certification assures enhanced product quality, reliability, and customer confidence.

CSA CERTIFIED

Certification by CSA International assures you that a CO Alarm has been evaluated under a formal process that includes testing and follow-up inspection, complies with all applicable standards, including CSA 6.19-01 and IAS 6-96-2nd Edition, and carries the Blue Star and Blue Flame approvals.

NFPA 720-05

The National Fire Protection Association's Recommended Practice for the Installation of Household Carbon Monoxide (CO) Warning Equipment.

COMPLIANCE

The PRO-TECH 8010 CO Alarm is engineered and manufactured under an ISO 9001 Quality Management System, Underwriters Laboratories Tested & Listed to ANSI/UL 2034-05, CSA Certified, NFPA 720-05 compliant, and includes Lifetime Reliability Testing.

SEMICONDUCTOR SENSOR

PRO-TECH CO Alarms utilize a Figaro TGS-203 tin dioxide semiconductor sensor which is highly selective, sensitive to CO while rejecting many other gases and contaminants. The sensor is stable, self-cleaning and able to detect repeated CO exposures over an estimated 7 year life.

VISUAL & AUDIBLE ALARMS

The 8010 samples every 2½ minutes for CO in the air at the unit. If a chronic CO level of 70 ppm or more is detected for 60-240 minutes, a Red LED will light and built-in 85dB audible alarm will sound.

MANUAL & AUTO. MUTE

Pressing the reset button temporarily clears the Red LED and mutes the audible signal while the CO level is rechecked. If CO remains at 70 ppm or more, the visual and audible alarm signals are automatically reactivated within 6 minutes. After ventilation, the LED is auto-reset to Green (power on), the audible signal is silenced, and detection restarts.

DIGITAL DISPLAY

The PRO-TECH 8010 CO Alarm includes a bright LED digital display which is angled upward for better visibility.  The CO levels detected between 30 to 500 ppm are continuously displayed.  Levels of 30 ppm or less are displayed as 0.  The display will flash if levels exceed 500 ppm.

PEAK LEVEL MEMORY

The 8010 includes a unique memory recall feature. By pressing the test/reset button, the digital readout will first display the current CO level detected from 1-500 ppm, and then the highest level detected, also from 1-500 ppm. When this sequence is completed, the display automatically returns to the prior readout. Pro-Tech also offers hardwire, line cord, and battery powered models.
